Two restaurants were robbed at gunpoint, and both robbers both left on foot.
Domino's Pizza in Blacksburg was robbed about 9 p.m., and within an hour, Hardee's on East Main Street in Salem was hit.
Blacksburg police were called to the Domino's at 905 N. Main St. at 9:13 p.m., according to Lt. B.E. Bradberry.
A man threatened employees with a small, silver-colored handgun and left with an undisclosed amount of cash, he said.
Bradberry said police are asking the public for help in the case. Anyone with information may call the police at (703)961-1150. Anonymous tips can be left on the police tip line at (703)961-1819.
This is the second time this year that Domino's has been robbed. The first time, Jan. 23, involved a similar scenario in which a man displayed a chrome-plated gun, demanded money and left the scene on foot.
In Salem, a man left the Hardee's at 1557 E. Main St. with an undisclosed amount of cash after showing a handgun and demanding money, according to Lt. R.E. Gray of the Salem Police Department.
