WOMAN SHOT, KILLED IN FLOYD COUNTY

Floyd County sheriff's deputies were searching for a man who may have shot a woman to death Sunday night.

Sheriff Tom Higgins said a neighbor called police about 10 p.m. to report a shooting. When deputies arrived at Virginia 750 and 743, they found a woman shot outside her home.

Higgins did not release the name of the victim, but said his department was looking for a man suspected in the shooting.
