RU HONORS FACULTY

Three Radford University faculty members have been honored with awards for their work in different areas.

Hooshang M. Beheshti, a professor in the university's department of management, won the Radford University Foundation Award for Creative Scholarship. He is conducting research on information systems strategies for global organizations, and gathering data for major corporations in the United States, England, Germany and Sweden.

As president of the International Academy of Business Disciplines, he has promoted Radford University nationally and internationally.

The foundation's Award for University Service went to Alastair V. Harris, professor and chairman of the university's psychology department. He has been a faculty member for nearly 30 years and headed many department, college and university committees.

Franklin M. Jones, professor and chairman of the physical science department, is this year's winner of the Donald N. Dedmon Professorial Award. Jones, who has also been at Radford for nearly 30 years, has received more than $1.1 million in grant funds since 1974, more than any science faculty member in the university's history.

The awards were announced during Saturday's commencement exercises. Also recognized were retiring faculty members Edgar R. McGreevy, professor of marketing, and Nancy Eiss, associate professor of special education.
