BONSACK MAN HIT BY NS TRAIN

A 71-year-old Bonsack man who was sitting on the edge of railroad tracks in Roanoke County was injured early Wednesday by a Norfolk Southern Corp. train.

Marvin C. Gunn was treated at Roanoke Memorial Hospital for a laceration to his right arm and later was released, authorities said.

The freight train was eastbound near Glade Creek Road, south of Sidetrack Road, about 5:20 a.m. when it grazed Gunn. It was traveling 45 mph in a 50 mph zone.
