DAVE ARNOLD APPEARS AT LIGHTHOUSE BAPTIST REVIVAL

Everyone is welcome to see and hear Dave Arnold, who will be in revival services at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Christiansburg, Sunday-Wednesday. Services are 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday.

During his 14 years as pastor of the Bible Baptist Church in Kreamer, Pa., beginning in 1967, Arnold saw congregations grow from 20 to almost 600 people. He has a clear, simple style of preaching that has endeared him to listeners.

Since 1985, Arnold has led World Evangelistic Outreach, a ministry that helps local pastors build churches and provides them with materials. He also conducts seminars and crusades, and leads trips to mission fields.

Arnold is a member of the executive committee of Pennsylvanians for Biblical Morality and on the board of directors of Bible Baptist College in Puerto Rico.

John A. Redhead, pastor emeritus of the First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, N.C., will be guest preacher at Blacksburg United Methodist Church on Sunday at 11 a.m. Redhead preached on "The Protestant Hour" radio show for 11 years. He is the father of Virginia Bethune, the organist at Blacksburg United Methodist Church.

``Thoughts on Parents and Children: Readings and Reflections" is the topic at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the New River Valley, Sunday at 10:30 a.m. 552-3785 or 552-8050.

The New Mount Olive United Methodist Church annual Spring revival will be Monday and Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Radford. Pastor Lyle E. Morton will speak, and area choirs will sing. 633-0059.

The East Radford Church of God revival continues tonight and Sunday with the Rev. Ernest Cary as evangelist. Service begins at 7 tonight and 6:30 p.m. Sunday

\ MAKING A JOYFUL NOISE

The International Country Gospel Music Association will have its first regional awards show tonight at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Pulaski at 7. Fifteen trophies will be awarded, and many musicians will perform. Admission is free, though donations will be accepted. 980-7000.

The Vesta Pentecostal Holiness Church will have a gospel sing tonight at 7:30. The Bledsoe Bros. & Papa from Surry County, N.C., and the Hylton Family from Floyd County will perform. Free admission; refreshments available. 745-3380.

The Highland Gospel Singers and special guest Redeemer's Quartet, with soloist Wanda Gail, will perform at the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers building on Peppers Ferry Road in Fairlawn. Admission is free to the 62nd consecutive month of gospel music in the series. 382-4654.

Laurel Bliss and Cliff Perry, from Seattle, and Tina Liza Jones and the Flying Cowboys will perform Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Oak Grove Pavilion in Floyd. A donation will be requested.

Jack Hayford is commencement speaker at LIFE Bible College today at 10 a.m. He is senior pastor of The Church on the Way in Van Nuys, Calif., and is president of LIFE Bible College in Los Angeles, a sister school.

The Rev. Don Long, general supervisor of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel in Los Angeles, will address the college Sunday at 10 a.m. for the baccalaureate and commissioning service.

Radford Christian Church will have a yard and bake sale today from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. 639-4291.
