A county dispatcher said the blaze, at the home of Samuel Morris, broke out shortly after 4 a.m.
Morris' young daughter woke up and got the rest of the family out of the house, said Dennis Jennings, assistant fire chief.
Once the fire truck was on the scene, the fire was under control in a few minutes, he said.
The fire apparently started in a bedroom,and the house suffered from extensive heat damage.
