BLACKSBURG - Draper Aden Associates has formed a new subsidiary: Draper Aden Environmental Modeling Inc.
The subsidiary will be headed by Ashok Katyal, who has written computer models used throughout North America and in 20 countries. The company will offer clients environmental site characterization, modeling of soil and ground-water contamination from hydrocarbon spills, risk assessment and advice on optimal remedial strategies.
The subsidiary began operation in March.
Ford dealership wins quality award
BLACKSBURG - Holiday Motor Corp. has been chosen to receive a Ford Motor Co. Distinguished Achievement Award for quality.
Owner Paul Duncan has been a Ford dealer in Blacksburg since 1963.
Volvo GM gives alliance $30,000
CHRISTIANSBURG - Volvo GM Heavy Truck Corp. has donated $30,000 to the New River Valley Economic Development Alliance for marketing activities.
The alliance promotes business and economic development in the valley. During its most recent investment drive, it received pledges of $323,000 from public and private sources.
RU graduate is pro at Draper Valley club
DRAPER - Draper Valley Golf Club has a new pro - Greg Sayers, a 25-year-old graduate of Radford University.
While a student at Radford, Sayers won Virginia's collegiate golf tournament in 1991. He was a member of the state champion Marion High School golf team when he was a student there.
For the last two years, Sayers has been working at the Virginia Golf Club in Bristol.
Nintendo honors Doctor Video store
CHRISTIANSBURG - Doctor Video has been selected to receive a 1994 Service Excellence Award from Nintendo in the company's second annual competition.
Eight other businesses nationwide were named World Class Service Centers.
Winners were evaluated quarterly on quality of service, repair time, customer satisfaction and marketing.
