ELIZABETH DOLE VOWS TO SELL DISNEY STOCK

Elizabeth Dole is promising to sell more than $15,000 in Walt Disney Co. stock after learning that a company subsidiary distributed ``Priest,'' a movie her presidential candidate husband calls a symptom of Hollywood's values crisis.

Dole made the pledge Friday evening in response to inquiries from The Associated Press about investments she and Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole, R-Kan., had made in Disney.

``Priest,'' which portrays sexual misconduct by Roman Catholic clergy, was produced by Miramax, a subsidiary that Disney acquired in 1993. Miramax also distributed the 1994 release ``Pulp Fiction,'' a violent, dark-humored film inspired by lurid crime fiction.

Disney also owns Hollywood Records; its performers have included rapper Prince Akeem, who in a 1991 song blamed black poverty on a ``white conspiracy'' and blamed much of black America's problems on ``that conspirator George Bush.''
