ALDERMAN, William Clayton, 73, of Pilot, passed away Monday morning, June 12, 1995, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was a longtime member of the Pilot United Methodist Church where he actively served the Lord faithfully in numerous ways. He retired from Lynchburg Foundry in 1983 after 38 1/2 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Thomas L. and Viola Alderman, and a daughter, Dana Mo ran. Surviving are his wife of fifty years, Elsie Edwards Alderman; sons and daughter-in-law, Clayton J. and Gloria Alderman, Floyd, Jimmy Alderman, Blacksburg; daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and David Hylton, Francie and Jerry Sutphin, all of Christiansburg, Wanda and Robbie Nolen, Floyd, Renita Meredith and fiance, Irvin Phillips, Radford; grandchildren, Tony Huff, Pilot, Darrell Turner, Christiansburg, Tracy Huff, Norfolk, Amy Moran, Charlottesville, Billy Ray Moran, North Carolina, Kristy, Chris and Sierra Meredith, Radford, Nick and Wes Nolen, Floyd; stepgrandons, Anthony and Gregory Hylton, Christiansburg, and Mark Sutphin, Oklahoma; one great-grandson, Justin Huff, Pilot. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel, Christiansburg conducted by Rev. Walt Simmerman with burial in Sunset Cemetery. CARR, Ellasue Wagner, of Roanoke, died Monday, June 12, 1995 at Lewis Gale Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Robert K. and Gray Wagner Carr. She graduated from William and Mary, interned at Temple University, Philadelphia and became Chief Dietician at Lewis Gale Hospital. She was also a Consultant to The Hospital Corporation of America. In 1958 she received the John G. Kolbe Memorial Award as the outstanding Dietitian in Virginia. She worked at Lewis Gale Hospital as Chief Dietitian from 1938 to 1975. Ellasue was an active member of Raleigh Court United Methodist Church, member of The Fellowship Sunday School Class, Dudley Horne Missionary Circle, Charter Member of the Roanoke Woman's Club and a member of the Thursday Morning Music Club. Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 14, 1995, at Oakey's Chapel downtown at 10:30 a.m. with Dr. Gregory Adkins officiating. Interment at Evergreen Burial Park. CARVER, Dennis Reuben, 58, of Blacksburg, died Sunday, June 11, 1995 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Mr. Carver was born in Bridgeport, Alabama on December 3, 1936, the son of the late Joe and Mattie Prince Carver. He served in the U. S. Air Force form 1958 to 1962. Mr. Carver was an employee of Hoechst-Celanese Inc., Narrows, Va., with 28 years of service. He transferred from Cumberland, Maryland to the Narrows plant in the fall of 1983. He was a member of the VA Tech Athletic Association. Surviving are his wife, Patty L. Carver; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Carver and Kimble Burch; and a grandson, Dennis Yale Burch, all of Lynchburg; one sister, Doris White , Bridgeport, AL.; three brothers, Jay Carver, Jimmy Carver and Richard Carver, all of Belleview, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 1995, at the New Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Gary Rhinesmith officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers that will be serving are Bill Murphy, Al Smith, Vic Baker, Mike Kessler, Ron Wertman, Terry Ratcliffe, and Walt Blubaugh. SELF, Flora Inez Webb, 94, of Roanoke, died Monday, June 12, 1995. She was born April 9, 1901 and resided for many years in the Mt. Pleasant section of Roanoke County. She was the widow of Isaac Hugh Self, and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Hazel, and son, Leon. Mrs. Self was the last child of William Andrew Campbell Webb and Emily Goad Webb of Caroll County. She received an LPN certificate from Leigh Memorial Hospital in Norfolk, Va. in 1955 at the age of 54. She was a member of Waverly Place Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence (Lucille) Wray; and a son, Kenneth Self; six grandchildren, Kenneth E. Self, Carolyn McMillan, Donald Self, Nancy Huff, Marcia Tan, Dean Self; five great-grandchildren, Laura Thompson, Troy Self, Paul Self, Matthew Tan, Chad Tan; one great-great-grandchild, Hannah Thompson. Graveside services will be in Sherwood Memorial Park at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 1995. The Rev. Charles Hoffler will officiate.
