The School Board, with all but Vice Chairman David Moore in attendance, unanimously gave Superintendent Herman Bartlett a 1.2 percent raise, the same increase given to all school employees. The board also increased Bartlett's salary by $370, a figure awarded school employees in January.
Bartlett now will be paid $83,359.
His contract requires a job evaluation before the beginning of each new fiscal year, which starts July 1.
Barry Worth proposed the raise after the three-hour performance review ended. Worth would not comment on the evaluation, but did say the raise was an indicator of a job well done.
Even though the board agreed to a pay raise, members will continue the evaluation in a closed session June 27, when they will discuss future goals with Bartlett.
Bartlett's contract, which began in 1993, is scheduled to expire in June 1996. By September of this year, the School Board is required to review the contract and determine whether to extend it for one more year.
