ROANOKE REGIONAL ECONOMIC INDICATORS

Sales of Roanoke Valley homes totaled 383 last month, up 11.7 percent from 343 in May and ahead by 8.2 percent from 354 in June a year ago. Don Constable, president of the Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors, cited lower interest rates.

On average, buyers paid 3.1 percent less than the listed price and properties spent 84.8 days on the market. The valley had 2,049 houses for sale at the end of June; 539 of them were added during the monthy.
