Owners' and manager's biographies: Carson Linkous, who owns the store with his wife, Kay, is pastor of Brush Arbor Worship Center next door to the bookstore. In addition to their ministry, the couple both work full time at Marshall Welding Supplies in Pulaski.
Wanda Waller, manager of the bookstore, has found her niche at Emmanuel. "I enjoy it. It's a ministry to me, it's not just a job," she said. She got into the Christian-bookstore business when she was hired at the now-closed Pulaski Church bookstore. When the Linkouses decided to open Emmanuel bookstore, they hired Waller to manage it.
"I always thought I'd like to do something like this, but I didn't think I could," Waller said. "I've had a lot of different jobs, but I feel very blessed to have this job." She said she tries to meet her customers' needs on a spiritual as well as material level.
"If people need us to pray with them, we do that here," she said.
