NCAA KICKS OFF TICKET SALES FOR STAGG BOWL

Tickets for the third Amos Alonzo Stagg Nowl scheduled at Salem Stadium have gone on sale at the Salem Civic Center box office. The NCAA Division III football championship game, a sellout in 1993 and '94, is scheduled Dec. 9 at 1 p.m.

Advance tickets, priced at $8 for adults and $5 for youths of high school age and younger, are available at the civic center or by calling 375-3004 or 1-800-288-2122. Salem Stadium seats 7,168 for the bowl, which also has unveiled its new logo.

In preseason publications, 1994 NCAA runner-up Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) is favored to return to the Stagg Bowl. The Presidents are ranked first by the Sporting News and College Football Preview and second by Street and Smith's. Albion (Mich.) was chosen to repeat as national champion by Street and Smith.
