Crown American Realty Trust, Johnstown, Pa., operator of New River Valley Mall, reported a second-quarter net loss of $18.7 million, equal to 68 cents per share, on revenues of $31.6 million, compared with year-earlier income of $2.6 million, or 9 cents per share, on revenues of $28.8 million. For six months, the net loss was $14.1 million, equal to 51 cents per share, on revenues of $63.8 million, compared with income of $4.7 million, or 17 cents, on revenues of $57.6 million.

OfficeMax Inc., Cleveland-based retailer, reported second-quarter net income of $1.2 million, or 2 cents per share, on sales of $482.5 million, compared with a year-earlier net loss of $806,000, equal to a penny per share, on sales of $359.1 million. For six months, net income was $9.2 million, or 12 cents per share, on sales of $1.04 billion, compared with $3.4 million, or 5 cents per share, on sales of $779.4 million.
Sara Lee
Sara Lee Corp., Chicago-based operator of knitwear mills in Martinsville and a L'eggs distribution center in Salem, reported fourth-quarter net income of $214 million, or 45 cents per share, on sales of $4.58 billion, compared with year-earlier $186 million, or 38 cents per share, on sales of $4.07 billion.
SWVA Bancshares
SWVA Bancshares Inc., holding company of Southwest Virginia Savings Bank of Roanoke, reported net income of $309,000, or 59 cents per share, on net interest income of $2.2 million for its fiscal year ended June 30, compared with year-earlier $568,000 on net interest income of $2.1 million. No shares of stock were outstanding before the company's initial public offering Oct. 7.
