CARTER, Margaret Agnor, 87, of Rt. 1, Buena Vista, died Wednesday, August 9, 1995 at Stonewall Jackson Hospital. Born December 19, 1907 in Rockbridge Co., she was the daughter of the late Alfred Agnor and Carrie Davis Agnor. She was a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church and was the widow of Windle N. Carter. Surviving are two sons, Fred K. Carter and James A. Carter, Buena Vista; two daughters, Carolyn C. Ruley and Gail C. Clark, Buena Vista; two sisters, Emma Agnor, Buena Vista, and Virginia Sensabaugh, Lexington; three granddaughters, Kimberly Carter, Miami, Fla., Christy Carter Camden, Richmond, and Michelle R. Wheeler, Buena Vista; one great-grandson, Logan Carter Camden, Chesterfield. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 11, 1995 at 3 p.m. from the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. William Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Ceme tery, Buena Vista. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions to Buena Vista Rescue Squad. DAVIS, Frances Willis, 81, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, August 8, 1995, following a lengthy illness. She was the widow of Dr. Hal Davis, M.D. and the daughter of the late Senator Holman Willis and Bess Brower Willis. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth D. Towler and two brothers, Holman Willis Jr. and Keith Willis. Frances was a 1936 graduate of Hollins College and a life long member of St. John's Episcopal Church where she was an active member of the Alter Guild. She was also a member of the Roanoke Valley Garden Club. Her surviving children are, Frances Davis Tenbrook of Wilbraham, Mass., Marion Davis Rummel of Castleton, Vt., Mary Keith Welch of Roanoke; a brother, Gordon C. Willis of Roanoke; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. The funeral services are incomplete at this time. The family suggest memorials be made to the Alzheimers Disease and Related Disease Association, P.O. DILLON, Shelby Jean Wright, 38, of Route 4, Rocky Mount, died Tuesday, August 8, 1995, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Percy Lemon and Janet Marie Wright. DUNCAN, Burman, 80, of Radford, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 1995, at the Veterans Hospital in Salem. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a retired machine operator of Lynchburg Foundry with 32 years service. Survivors include his wife, Edith V. Duncan of Radford; one son, Robert Duncan of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two grandsons; and one granddaughter; four great-grandsons; four sisters, Clydie Morris, Carrie Bain and Bertha Moore, all of Radford, Helen Dickerson of Dublin; five brothers, Lincoln, Troy, Hobert, William and Hubert Duncan, all of Radford. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 12, 1995 at 11 a.m. at the Seaver-Sanders and Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with the Rev. Ellis Meredith and the Rev. Vance Handy officiating. HAIRSTON, Odell Sr., 71, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 1995. Arrangements by Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.

HAMILTON, Elmer Franklin, 94, a long time resident and local Lexington Merchant, died suddenly Monday, August 7, 1995, at Regina Nursing Center, Norristown, Penn. He was born June 20, 1901 in Augusta County and was married to the late Mary Katherine Pultz. He came to Lexington in 1923 as Manager of the A & P. In 1931 he and Benton C. Tolley became partners in Tolley's Toggery men's clothing store, now The College Town Shop. He was a member of Manly Memorial Baptist Church and served in many capacities; Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon, Treasurer for 20 years and choir member. Mr. Hamilton was a Charter member of the Lexington Lions Club and was District Governor Lions International 1946-47. He was active in community business matters and was a past President of the Chamber of Commerce. He was among the first members of the Lexington Golf and Country Club and will long be remembered as one of the foursome that always walked. He is survived by a daughter, Joyce H. Eisler, of Berwyn, Penn.; a sister, Jada H. Craun, of Mt. Sidney; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Monday, August 14,1995, at 11 a.m. at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Dr. Thomas G. Harvey officiating. Interment will follow in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery. Friends and Family may visit on Sunday, August 13,1995, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Manly Memorial Baptist Church.

HARRIS, Noah Cleveland Jr., 57, of Floyd, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 1995, at his home. Survivors include three brothers and sisters-in-law, Carlile and Ronda Harris, Floyd, Eunice and Nancy Harris, Willis, John and Margaret Harris, Willis; one sister, Margaret Quesenberry, Willis; three nieces; seven nephews. HART, Ralph S., 91, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, August 8, 1995. Mr. Hart was a member of Villa Heights Baptist Church and had also attended Bethany Christian Church. He was a retired machinist from Norfolk & Western East End Shops. Surviving are two sons and daughter-in-law, Bernard A. and Kitty Hart, Friendswood, Texas, Eugene H. Hart, Roanoke; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Ralph Doyle, Linden, Ala., Frances and Edward McAllister, Roanoke, Darrell Shelton, Fincastle; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lenora H. He was employed as a pipe fitter for the Harris Mechanical Construction Co. and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. NICHOLS, Paul Dean, Sr., 61, of Route 1, Fieldale, Whitby Acres, died Tuesday, August 8, 1995 at Memorial Hospital Martinsville and Henry County. Born July 3, 1934 in Henry County to his parents the late William Lucas Nichols, Sr. and Roselle Walker Nichols. He was a retired State Magistrate of 27 years and also owned and operated N & F Furniture Co. He was also a member of Fieldale Baptist Church. Mr. Nichols was an Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post II, Bassett, Va. and a founder of the Fieldale Rescue Squad and a Honorary Member of the Fieldale Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Ramona Lawless Nichols, of the home; daughter, Connie Rakes Nichols, Whitby Acres, Fieldale; son, Paul Dean ""Nick"" Nichols, Jr., Whitby Acres, Fieldale; brother, William Lucas Nichols, Jr., Fieldale; two sisters, Gaynelle Arledge, Fieldale, Dixie Moore, Yancyville, N.C.; two grandchildren, Michael Paul Nichols and Bradley Dean Nichols. PACK, Bessie Dunagan, 75, of Curve Road, Pearisburg, formerly of Mercer County, W.Va., died Wednesday, August 9, 1995 at a Riverview Retirement Center near Rich Creek. Born at Hatcher, W.Va. on February 25, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Faye Anderson Dunagan. She was educated in Mercer County and a member of the Kee Street United Methodist Church in Princeton, W.Va. She retired as an employee of the Babcock and Wilcox's A Corporation for the Naval Nuclear Fuel Division at Lynchburg in 1983. She was preceded in death by a son , Gary Pack, along with five brothers. Surviving are her husband, James Linzie Pack, Pearisburg; one son, Howard Tommy Pack, and his wife Carol, Las Vegas, Nev.; one daughter, Judy Harvey, Concord, Va.; two sisters, Nellie Dunagan, Princeton, and Ruth Robertson, Fairmont, W.Va.; one brother, Frank Dunagan, Hatcher; four grandchildren, H.T. Pack, Jr., Holly Pack, Jennifer Harvey, and Michelle Taliaferro; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m.. RAMSEY, Pleas, 87, of 1244 Catawba Street, Kingsport, Tenn., died Tuesday, August 8, 1995 at Hillside Manor Rehabilitation Center from complications of pneumonia. A native of Salem, he attended Washington and Lee University and graduated from Roanoke College. He was selected for the Virginia All-State Football Team and is in the Roanoke College Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. Mr. Ramsey was a life-long Baptist. He was a Certified Public Accountant in Atlanta, Ga. until his retirement in 1970. He had lived in Kingsport since 1974. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florine Haynes Ramsey (in 1971), and his sisters, Rachel E. Ramsey, Ellie Ramsey Thomas, and Katherine Ramsey Holland. Surviving are his son, David W. Ramsey, Dallas Texas; his daughter, Susan Ramsey Keith, Kingsport, Te n.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 11 nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at the Mt. SCHILLING, L. I., (``Luke''), 92, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, August 8, 1995. Mr. Schilling was a member and past deacon of Garden City Baptist Church and a long time resident of Garden City. Luke was a former employee of American Viscose Corp. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Smith Schilling in 1989, and by a son, Buddy Schilling in 1957; and also by his parents, Joseph and Arletha Shilling, and by three brothers and two sister-in-laws. Surviving are two sons, L. Calvin Schilling, Roanoke, and Don M. SEIKEL, David C., 88, of Fort Wayne, Ind., died Wednesday morning, August 9, 1995, at the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana. Mr. Seikel was a native of Niles, Ohio and had lived in Fort Wayne the past eight years. He retired in 1960 as an auditor for the New York Central Railroad. He was a member of Olive Branch Masonic Lodge #542 of Dearborn, Mich. and the Scottish Rite. Surviving are his wife, Vera of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a son, Ralph of Roanoke; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Hagedorn of Westlake, Ohio. SNEAD, Lillian Rakes, 91, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, August 8, 1995, in Blumenthal Jewish Home in Clemmons, N.C. She was born November 3, 1903, to McGruder and Ophelia Thomas Rakes. She is survived by one daughter, Neza Snead Jolly of Winston-Salem, N.C.; one son, Warren L. Snead of Greeneville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Martha Jolly Grant of Richmond, William Alison Jolly of Stoneville, N.C., Warren L. Snead Jr. of Richmond, Mary Lee Snead of Ft. Myers, Fla.; four great-grandchildren; also one sister, Effie B. Snead of Salem; eight nieces and nephews. She was a member of Virginia Heights Baptist Church in Roanoke. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, August 12, 1995, at 11 a.m. at the home of her birth in Endicott, Va. with Dr. Harold F. Waldruff officiating. WIRT, James Melvin, 68, of Sterling, Va., died Tuesday, August 8, 1995, at Manor Care of Fair Oaks, Fairfax, Va. He was born October 25, 1926 in Lindside, W.Va. to the late Norris E. and Bertie Underwood Wirt. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W.). He was a native of Buchanan, Va. Surviving are his wife, June D. Wirt; daughter, Joanne D. Luoma and husband, Paul, Sterling, Va.; three grandchildren, Jodi, Jim, and John; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Norma Wirt, Red Oak, Va., Robert and Gail Wirt, Waynesboro, Va., Gerald and Sarah Wirt, Buchanan, Petie and Linda Wirt, Roanoke; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Friday at Oakey's North Chapel by Dr. William A. Cole. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Oake y's North chapel.
