2 CHARGED IN DEATH IN WYTHEVILLE

A man and woman have been charged with second-degree murder in the death of 58-year-old Kenneth O. Addison of Wytheville, whose body was found Thursday evening in his apartment on West Union Street.

Held without bond in the Wythe County Jail are Anthony Quinn Allison, 27, of Wytheville and Brenda Gail Tuggle, 23, of Saltville.

A spokesman for the Wytheville Police Department said the preliminary investigation indicates that Addison sustained an injury to the back of his head.

Allison and Tuggle have also been charged with grand larceny in connection with Addison's death.

Wytheville Public Safety Director Albert Newberry said Allison and Tuggle were identified as suspects shortly after the murder, and law enforcement officials were alerted to be on the lookout for them. They were arrested Friday afternoon when Wythe County Deputy Brian Boze spotted them traveling on U.S. 11 near Rural Retreat.

At the time of Addison's death, Allison was free on bond on charges of breaking and entering and assault and battery stemming from a July 20 incident at a Wytheville trailer park.
