A 20-year-old woman had stopped at Westside Boulevard and Salem Turnpike Northwest about 7:25 p.m. when a man across the street waved to her.
The man walked to the woman's car and asked for a ride. When she refused, he pulled a handgun from his waistband and ordered her from the car, police said. He smashed the vent glass, and the woman fled the car. She was not injured.
Police recovered the car Monday in the 3600 block of Salem Turnpike Northwest. No one has been arrested.
