RADFORD - Radford City Police arrested a Radford man over the weekend on a felony drug charge. Bryan D. Hayden, 21, was among eight men indicted March 20 by a grand jury.
He had managed to avoid arrest until being picked up early Saturday morning at a local bar, police said.
Hayden faces one count of distributing cocaine.
He remains in Radford City Jail in lieu of $15,000 bond.
NRCC announces classes for fall
DUBLIN - New River Community College is offering a variety of occupational and technical courses during its fall semester, which starts Monday, Aug. 21.
Being offered are classes on automotive technology, administration of justice, drafting and design, electricity, electronics, nursing, insturmentation, machine technology, and welding. Many classes will be scheduled during the evening.
Registration can be completed at the Dublin campus or at the school's off-campus location at 412 Roanoke St. in Christiansburg.

University Mall plans festival
BLACKSBURG - The University Mall in Blacksburg sponsors its annual Fall Festival Friday, Aug. 25, through Sunday, Aug. 27. The festival will feature craft and other vendors.
Space is still available for vendors interested in setting up booth. Cost is $25.
WKEX radio will sponsor a live remote with a live bluegrass band Saturday, Aug. 26, along with the Happy Clown and games and prizes.
University Mall board openings
CHRISTIANSBURG - Montgomery County has openings on several boards. The application deadline is Sept. 1, and applicants must be registered voters who are in good tax standing.
The Adjustment and Appeals Board meets as needed to review appeals of decisions by the building inspector. The appointment is for four years.
The New River Valley Agency on Aging provides services for senior citizens. The members make policy and fiscal decisions. The appointment is for one year, and the meetings are held every quarter in Pulaski.
The Electrical Examining Board meets as needed to hear appeals of decisions by the electrical engineer. The appointment is for five years.
Two positions are open on the Office on Youth Advisory Board, which provides information to the county government on youth-oriented activities. The positions expire June 30, 1996. Meetings are the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Christiansburg.
