Bermuda will seek new leader
HAMILTON, Bermuda - The search for Bermuda's new leader began Friday after Premier John Swan kept his promise to resign if voters rejected independence from Britain.
A caucus of Swan's United Bermuda Party met to honor him and open the race for his successor to party legislators. Voters in this mid-Atlantic island colony rejected independence resoundingly on Wednesday.
Nominations signed by five parliament members in the governing party are due Tuesday, and the caucus votes Friday.
