John McEnroe, 36, is expecting a child with his girlfriend, singer Patty Smyth, 37, in 1996, next week's People magazine reports. The ex-tennis star has three kids with ex-wife Tatum O'Neal. Smyth has a daughter by ex-punk rocker Richard Hell.

Al Roker, pale blue bonnet in place, wheeled up a flower-laden baby carriage on Friday's ``Today'' show as Katie Couric announced on the air what her friends and family already knew: she's pregnant. Couric is due in January.

``I know people think I need to lay off the jelly doughnuts because they haven't seen my waist in weeks,'' Couric told the TV audience while onlookers in the street behind her clutched white balloons.

Couric and her husband, Jay Monahan, have a 4-year-old daughter, Ellie.
