2 SENTENCED IN SCHOOL ATTACK

Two men who burst into a high school classroom, shoved aside a teacher and beat up a student were sentenced to a year in jail and fined $2,500.

Chesterfield County Circuit Judge Herbert C. Gill Jr. sentenced Furguan Sharif, 20, and Donald Clifton Chavis, 21, Friday. A jury that convicted the men of assault June 23 recommended the maximum punishment.

The 17-year-old Meadowbrook High School student suffered bruises and cuts from kicks and punches but was not seriously injured.
