CEASE NO LONGER A KY. CHIEF FINALIST

Roanoke County Police Chief John Cease is no longer in the running for the top post of the Jefferson County, Ky., police force.

The Courier-Journal in Louisville is reporting today that on Friday the 11-member committee chose two finalists for the chief of police spot: Ron Ricucci, deputy chief of Montgomery County, Md.; and Hal Robbins, a police consultant and former police chief in Annapolis, Md.

Cease was one of six finalists to lead the 435-member police force. Jefferson County, which surrounds Louisville, is a mix of urban, suburban and rural areas.

Cease could not be reached for comment Friday.
