``That just shows how far we've got to go before Boston College blows into town,'' Tech head coach Frank Beamer said. ``We simply were not sharp. We had far too many turnovers, and our tackling was poor.''
Tech opens the season next Thursday at Lane Stadium against the Eagles in a game televised by ESPN.
Druckenmiller completed 20 of 29 passes for 261 yards and two touchdowns - a 15-yard strike to former Jefferson Forest star Bryan Jennings and a 19-yarder to Cornelius White.
The only other offensive touchdown came on a 7-yard run by Dwayne Thomas.
The three defensive touchdowns were scored by Antonio Banks (94-yard fumble return), Myron Newsome (61-yard fumble return) and former Glenvar standout Brandon Semones (34-yard interception return).

Wayne Smith has been named assistant baseball coach at Radford University.
Smith, 27, will take over as pitching coach, replacing Lind Hartsell, who recently was named head coach at Lenoir Community College in Kinston, N.C. Smith, a native of Modena, N.Y., also will work with the Radford outfielders.
Smith spent the past three years as an assistant at the University of Richmond.

Virginia Tech's women's soccer team was picked to finish fourth in the Atlantic 10 Conference's West Division in a 1995 preseason poll of A-10 coaches.
Tech, 8-11 last year, was picked behind George Washington, Xavier and Dayton and ahead of La Salle and Duquesne.
Massachusetts, ranked ninth in the country in Soccer America's preseason poll, was the No.1 choice in the East Division, followed by Temple, St. Bonaventure, Rhode Island and Fordham.
Tech, under third-year coach Sam Okpodku, opens the season at American University on Saturday.
The Virginia Tech athletic department has named Rebecca Aase an assistant softball coach.
Aase, who will assume academic and administrative roles for the team and also will be in charge of pitching and recruiting, is known for holding the NCAA softball record for consecutive pitching victories with 50. The former Florida State standout was a member of three teams which appeared in the College World Series. Her overall pitching record at Florida State was 87-11 with a 0.84 earned run average.
