NO-CONTEST PLEA MADE IN SHAKING OF BABY

A Bedford County man charged with felony child abuse pleaded no contest Tuesday to shaking a 2-month-old girl so hard that her head touched her back.

Kevine Lee Dillon, 22, faces up to 10 years in prison. A pre-sentence report has been ordered, but no date has been set for his next court appearance.

A sheriff's deputy testified at a preliminary hearing that Dillon confessed to shaking the baby so she would stop crying.

Dillon is not related to the infant and was minding her for her mother at the time.

A physician said the child probably didn't suffer permanent neurological damage, according to Bedford County Commonwealth's Attorney Randy Krantz.
