Butch Miller, Tobey Butler and Ernie Irvan drove Ford F150 SuperTrucks at the .526-mile track on Thursday in preparation for the $156,955 Goody's 150. NASCAR's new SuperTruck Series by Craftsman will share the September 22-24 weekend with NASCAR's Winston Cup Series at Martinsville Speedway.
Irvan said Ford SuperTrucks will be strong at Martinsville.
``The Fords are good at Martinsville,'' he said after a day of testing. ``It's still the same ol' Martinsville. You have to run competitive speeds all day and be there at the end.''
Qualifying for the Goody's 500 Winston Cup event will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept.22 and will be followed at 4:30 by SuperTruck qualifying.
The Goody's 150 SuperTruck race begins at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept.23 and the Goody's 500 starts at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept.24.
