FOOTBALL'S STARR TO HELP KICK OFF UNITED WAY

United Way of Roanoke Valley is kicking off its 1995 community fund-raising campaign with a tailgate party featuring a guest appearance by a football great.

The organization will launch this year's fund drive officially on Monday at the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center.

A tailgate-style luncheon - featuring the Roanoke College cheerleaders and Roanoke's Patrick Henry High School band - will begin at noon in the hotel ballroom.

Bart Starr, Super Bowl champion quarterback and former Green Bay Packers coach, will be the featured speaker.

United Way hopes to raise $5 million, which would be a record for the organization. Last year, United Way raised $4.8 million.

Luncheon tickets are $10 each. For more information, call United Way at 345-7351, Ext. 230.
