UNITED WAY ANNOUNCES CAMPAIGN LEADERS

The United Way of Montgomery, Radford & Floyd will kick off its 1995 campaign this week with a goal to raise $900,000.

Donations collected during the campaign will be distributed among 39 local health and human service organizations in Montgomery and Floyd counties and the city of Radford.

This year's campaign officially begins Friday, when about 200 volunteers will spend the day working for United Way agencies during the organization's annual Day of Caring.

Jay Johnson of the National Bank of Blacksburg is the 1995 campaign chairman. He will be joined by 60 campaign team volunteers, 29 members of the local United Way's board of directors, 60 fund distribution volunteers and a host of workers in company employee campaigns.

Joining Johnson on the 1995 Campaign Volunteer Team are: Bob BRANNINGAN of Montgomery Regional Hospital, medical division; Dale Clark of First National Bank, finance division; Jim Corrin of Booth Communications, public relations committee; Karen Cronin of Virginia Tech, T.O. Williams III of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association and Ron Downs of Radford University, combined Virginia campaign for state employees; Lucy Draper and Jo Ann Palmer of Owens & Company, Christiansburg business division; Darryl Gillespie of Lester & Gillespie, Christiansburg commercial division; Trudy Graham and Ann Harless of Premier Bank, Shawsville business division; George and Ann Gardner Gray of Shawsville, retiree and residential division; Karen Hedge of Pro Media, Radford business division; Holly Henderson of VTLS Inc., corporate research park division; Carol Herman of Lazarus Inc., New River Valley Mall division; Russell Holladay and Larry Schoff of Montgomery County schools, education division; Butch Irvine of Central Fidelity Bank, loaned employee program; Donna Littlepage of Radford Community Hospital, health and medical division; Gail Lucas of Lucas Appraisal Service, Blacksburg business division; Steve Middleton of Middleton Construction, Floyd County division; Tom Murphy of National Bank of Blacksburg, professional division; Jo Lynn Price of First National Bank, Radford commercial division; Clyde Smythers of Charter Federal, Blacksburg commercial division; Dan Specht of Wheat First Butcher Singer and Elaine Specht of the Waste Policy Institute, Day of Caring co-chairmen; Gary Teaster of the Blacksburg Police Department, government division; Jeff Tickle, National Bank of Blacksburg, Market Place division and Gene Wagstaff of New River Industries, Wings of Leadership Society.

The campaign is scheduled to run through Nov. 15.
