James Dawsey scored the first goal for the Wasps (2-0 overall, 2-0 ODAC), on an assist from Peter Johnson to give Emory & Henry a 1-0 lead. The Wasps took a 2-0 lead on Daniel Ellery's goal.
Roanoke (0-1, 0-1) scored late in the first half on Richard Eftoora's goal. The Wasps' goalkeeper, Steven Cassiday, shut out the Maroons in the second half and finished with six saves.

For the second year in a row, Roanoke College cross-country standout J.J. Maybury will hold a five-kilometer run to benefit the West End Center. This year's edition, on Sept. 16, will be accompanied by a mile race starting at the center.
