The maid of honor was Becky Mabes and bridesmaids were Nicole Holdren and Jeannie Mabes. The flower girl was Erin Basham, niece of the groom. Groomsmen were Tommy Jennings, Steve Spencer and Mike Waddell.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark F. Wimmer, Jr. She is a graduate of Radford University and is employed by Rubatex. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles David Basham and is employed by United Parcel Service.
After a honeymoon trip to the Bahamas, the newlyweds will reside in Roanoke County.

Melissa Ann Plumley and Danny Lee Bivens were married August 19, 1995 at Lakeside Baptist Church with Reverend Art Hearne officiating. The reception was held at the home of the groom's parents.
The bride is the daughter of Mary Ann and Raymond L. Plumley, Sr. of Beckley, West Virginia. Melissa's grandparents are Ban a Plumley and the late Carlos Plumley and the late Mary Louise and Robert Curtis Brewer. Melissa is a graduate of Shady Spring High School and is employed by Walmart in Colonial Heights.
The groom is the son of Charlotte and Ronnie L. Bivens of Roanoke. Danny's grandparents are Dorothy Pruett Weeks and the late Wilbert W. Pruett of Salem and Mary Ellen and L.C. Bivens of Roanoke. Danny is a graduate of Northside High School and is an Assistant Manager for Sam's Club in Colonial Heights.
After the honeymoon at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the couple will live in Colonial Heights, Virginia.

Amanda Kristie Barker and James Andrew Brooks were married September 16, 1995, in Shiloh Union United Methodist Church. The Rev. R. C. Wagner officiated. The reception was held at the Catawba Community Center.
The maid of honor was Melanie Berline, cousin of the bride. The bridesmaid was Sharon Heptinstall, cousin of the bride . Flower girl was Jamie Barker, daughter of the bride. The bride was escorted by Roger Barker, her uncle.

Sandra Ann Thompson and Ronald Aaron Brower were married in a candlelight ceremony on August 26, 1995, at Pilgrim Baptist Church. Reverend Matthew T. Barnette and Reverend Dwight O. Steele, Sr., united the happy couple. The reception was held at Holiday Inn, Salem.
Helen Thompson Belcher, sister of the bride, was the Matron of Honor. The bridesmaids were Vickie and Judy Thompson, sisters of the bride; Bonita and Karen Brower, sisters of the groom; Tonya Johnson, cousin of the bride. The pretty little flowergirls were Tia and Kenya Thompson, nieces of the bride.
Wesley Bright, best friend of the groom, served as Best Man. The groomsmen/ushers were Greg, Charles, and Kevin Brower, brothers of the groom; Eugene and Jimmy Thompson, brothers of the bride. The handsome Ringbearers were Master Marcus Brower, nephew of the groom and Master Joshua Thompson, nephew of the bride.
The honorary guests were Mr. and Mrs. Peters J. Rogers, cousins of the bride. The bride wore a long white satin gown with a detachable trail, all filled with sequins, lace and pearls. The gown was made by the bride's cousin, Mrs. Betty T. Roberts of New York. She carried a bouquet with pearls and white and mauve roses.
The bride, escorted by her father, was given in marriage by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hoover Thompson of Fincastle. She graduated from Lord Botetourt High School. The groom is the son of Mrs. Bessie V. Brower of Roanoke. He graduated from William Fleming High School and attended Ferrum College. Both the bride and groom are employed with AMP Inc., Roanoke.

After a romantic seven-day cruise to Cozumel Mexico, Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rios Jamaica, the couple is residing in Roanoke.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Angela Green was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaid was Lori Coughlin, the bride's cousin.

Mary Beth Vaniels and Thomas Lanier Orr, II were married on Saturday, September 16, 1995, at 6:00 p.m. at Cave Spring United Methodist Church. The Reverend William C. Logan of Cave Spring and Pastor Robert Maier of Glade Creek Lutheran Church officiated the double-ring ceremony. The reception was held at Hunting Hills Country Club.
The bride was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents. The bride wore a white Italian satin gown from Formal Occasions. The fitted bodice and off-the-shoulder short sleeve gown was heavily embellished with Alencon lace covered in pearls and clean crystals. The fitted basque waist flowed into a full skirt with cathedral train detailed with a wide lace and pearl covered hemline. The bride carried a crescent bouquet of calla lilies, stephanotis, and white roses.
Maid of honor was Michelle Vaniels of Arlington, Virginia, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Jennifer Johnson and Mary Catherine Johnson of Abingdon, Virginia, Kerry Addington of Roanoke, cousins of the bride; and Kelley Orr of Roanoke, sister of the groom.
Best man was Tom Orr, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Bill Ellis of Richmond, Virginia, Darrell Joyce, Robert Hedge, and Ronnie Fugate, of Roanoke, all friends of the groom.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas R. Crowder of Fincastle. She was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. The bride is a graduate of Hollins College, Roanoke, Va., and the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, Va.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Dinnah Jane Barnette of Madison Heights, Va. He is a veteran of the United States Navy and a graduate of ECPI Technical College, Richmond, Va.
Mrs. Shelly Blevins-Stanley of Richmond, Va. was the matron of honor. Bridal attendants were Ms. Eileen McCaul of Roanoke, and Ms. Katherine Evans of Savannah, Ga. A wedding blessing was written and read by Mrs. Adrian Blevins-Church of Fincastle. Bethany Barnette, niece of the groom, was the flowergirl. The ringbearer was Timothy John (T.J.) Crowder, nephew of the bride.
The best man was Martin Church of Roanoke. The groomsmen were Jim McDowell of Troutville, and Andy Stanley of Richmond, Va.
The wedding music was provided by Roaring Jelly, a hammer dulcimer band from Christiansburg, Va. Catering was handled by Murphy's of Course of Roanoke. Julie Tames of Roanoke, friend of the couple, designed, baked and built the extraordinary wedding cake complete with candied pansies and rose petals to adorn it. The flowers and grapevine garden trellis were done by Patti Neal of Roanoke, friend of the bride. Butler Day of Atlanta, Ga., Eileen McCaul, Martin Church and Rudder Photo Lab of Roanoke all contributed various photographic wedding needs. Videography was done by Tim Crowder of Richmond, brother of the bride.
Kim and Gene would like to express their grateful and undying thanks to their parents and all who helped make their wedding celebration happen, and also for all the love and support everyone so generously gave. Attendants were Charlotte Winningham, Elizabeth Buford, and Vicki Boggs. David Winningham, father of the groom, served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Thomas Langheim, Doug Campbell, and Brian McWaters. Ring bearer was Rebekah Moody, niece of the bride. Briana Moody and Nicole Moody served their Aunt as flower girls. A reception, welcoming 200 guests, was held at the David Winningham home.
The newlyweds will reside in Memphis, Tennessee, where the groom, a graduate of Georgia Tech, is employed as a Chemical Engineer. The bride, a graduate of James Madison University, is employed as an Elementary Teacher in the Memphis school system.

Heather Michele Hale and Jerry Darrel Wright were married September 9, 1995, in Thaxton Baptist Church with Rev. Hunter B. Hale, Jr., father of the bride, officiating. The maid of honor was Christina Hale, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kathy Kindle, Renee Casto, Sherry Rice, Melissa Floyd, and Lisa Price, all friends of the bride. Flowergirls were Stephanie Kindle, Heidi Hodges and Tiffany Rice, all friends of the bride. Rick Atkins, friend of the groom, served as best man. Ushers included Chris Lee, Duane DeHart, Jamie Asbury, Ralph Rice and Patrick Keough, all friends of the groom. Ringbearer was D. J. Wright, nephew of the groom. The bride wore an ivory silk gown which featured a cathedral train. Bodice was accented with beaded pearls. She carried a nosegay of ivory and soft pink roses. The bride also wore her grandfather Hale's wedding band in memory of him. The bride is a daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Hunter B. Hale, Jr., of Thaxton, Va. Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. Margaret W. Hale and the late Hunter B. Hale, Sr., of Vinton and Mr. and Mrs. Carl L. Melvin of North Tazewell, Va. She graduated from Liberty High School and Radford University. She is employed by Guest Services, Inc. of Radford. The groom is the son of Mrs. Charlotte Wright and the late Jerry Wright, Bland, Va. The grandparents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. John Campbell and Mrs. Nina Wright and the late Donald Wright, all of Bland. He graduated from Bland High School and is employed by New River Industries of Radford. The newlyweds will live in Radford after the wedding trip to Gatlinburg and Nashville, Tenn.
