F-C MANHANDLES MAGNA VISTA 36-10

Fieldale-Collinsville capitalized on Magna Vista turnovers deep in their own territory and went on to a 36-10 victory Saturday night in a Piedmont District game in Ridgeway.

Senior Melvin Joyce led the Cavaliers (3-0 overall, 2-0 district) in rushing with 88 yards on six carries, including a 62-yard touchdown dash.

Jermaine Simmons led the Warriors (1-2, 1-1) with 148 yards on 12 carries.

Martinsville 36, Bassett 8: In Martinsville, the Bulldogs won their second consecutive Piedmont District game as quarterback Roger Martin threw for a touchdown and scored another against the Bengals.

Bassett (1-2, 1-1) got back into the game on a long march in the third quarter that ended when Devon Claybrooks went over from the 1 to make it 20-8. Martinsville (2-1, 2-0) scored the next 16 points to pull away.
