The green waste collection boxes at 6100 McCoy Road will be removed by this weekend, Montgomery County announced. The boxes will be removed because the "landowner has other plans for his property," according to a news release from the county.
While the county looks for another waste disposal site in the Longshop-McCoy area, citizens are asked to use one of three nearby sites at Sunnyside Church, the Barber Shop on McCoy Road or the Prices Fork Road Solid Waste and Recycling Site.
The county also announced it will no longer collect solid waste on Sundays. Citizens are being asked to dispose of refuse at green boxes on another day of the week.
In order to keep sites clean, citizens should not illegally leave trash next to full green boxes.
For additional information or to report trash dumping violations, call the county's Director of Public Facilities at 382-5796.
