BYRD REMAINS UNDEFEATED

Freshman Lara Nester scored a game-high 22 points, including six 3-pointers as William Byrd remained undefeated with a 65-60 non-district victory over Floyd County.

Nester scored 14 points in the fourth quarter and hit four of her 3-pointers in the final period. She finished with 16 second-half points.

William Byrd (9-0), which defeated Floyd County for the second time this season, also got 13 points from senior Cathy Smith.

Floyd County (6-4) was led by Julie Sowers, who scored 20 points, 17 in the second half. She also drilled five 3-pointers, with four of those coming in the second half. Sara Conner added 11 points for the Buffaloes.
