SUPERMARKET ADDS CULINARY CHEF

What's cooking at Harris Teeter supermarket? In-store entrees, including hot pasta dishes, shark steak, lasagna, beef stroganoff and marinated flank steak, ranging from $1.99 to $12.99 per pound.

Who's cooking them? The store's new culinary chef, Jason Cavagnaro, who came on board Saturday.

From today through the year's end, the Towers Shopping Center store will be celebrating its grand remodeling, which has been underway since mid-April. From today through Oct. 11, the store's first 200 customers each day will receive special free prizes. Weekend trips to Mountain Lake, special two-for-one sales, discounts and other incentives also will be offered during the 12-week long celebration.

Store manager Gary Powers said that Cavagnaro and wine consultant Gordon Kendall, who joined the staff in April, are part of the store's overall upscale revamping.

The store is open 24 hours a day, seven days per week.
