The Cavaliers led 25-23 after three quarters and outscored the Bengals 15-9 in the final period to ice the victory. The Cavaliers also held Bassett's Heather Miller to three points. Miller has averaged 21 points per game this season.
Lynettia Johnson scored 19 points to lead the Chargers.
Patrick County 68, Laurel Park 58: Amy Nelson and Holly Webber each scored 14 points to lead the Cougars to a Piedmont District victory over the Lancers and keep Patrick County (8-4 overall, 7-2 district) in second place behind Fieldale-Collinsville.
Liberty 73, Appomattox County 50: The Minettes built a 44-25 halftime lead and never looked back as they trounced the Raiders in a Seminole District game in Appomattox.
Felicia Miller led Liberty (8-2, 8-2) with a game-high 15 points. SueLynn Cowlbeck and Kellea Whorley each chipped in 11 points for the Minettes.
Twanna Scott scored a game-high 16 points and Princess Lowmeck added 13 for Appomattox County (4-6, 4-6).
Brookville 66, Staunton River 40: In Brookville, the Bees remained undefeated by blasting the Golden Eagles in a Seminole District game.
Kristi Fisher led Brookville (10-0, 10-0) with a game-high 31 points and Lindsay Ferguson added 12.
Beth Davis scored 10 points to lead Staunton River (5-5, 5-5).
Chilhowie 67, Rural Retreat 55: The Warriors picked up their offense in the final quarter to beat the Indians and tie them for second place in a Hogoheegee District game in Chilhowie.
The Warriors (6-4, 6-2) were led by Kristy Poe with 17 points, Emily Blevins with 16 and Amanda Mountain with 15. Rural Retreat (8-2, 6-2) was paced by Kristie Osborne with 16 and Nicole Hedrick with 15.
