COUNT PULASKI AUCTION SUNDAY

An antique auction is being planned in conjunction with this year's Count Pulaski Day Festival at 2 p.m. Sunday.

It will be conducted by Rocky Mount auctioneer G. Ray Boone at All Country Restaurant, 220 N. Washington Ave., as the main event sponsored by antique dealers from Pulaski's downtown historic district and from Roanoke.

The antique merchants are planning the auction as the first to be held each quarter in downtown Pulaski.

Boone has extensive experience in the field of quality antiques and collectibles. Dealers from throughout the region will offer up to 300 lots of items ranging from embossed Clover Milk bottles to a Tiffany silver plate.

Auction categories will include quality furniture, glassware, pottery, estate jewelry, advertising memorabilia, out-of-print books, sheet music and general collectibles. Specific items include a walnut Hepplewhite banquet table, an l8-karat gold bracelet, Halsey glassware, McCoy pottery and a Wythe County washstand.

All items will be tagged with a description and displayed at a 1 p.m. preview. The 2 p.m. auction will be accompanied by food and beverages from All Country Restaurant. No buyer's premiums, catalog fees or reservation fees are required.

The auction will cap off the Count Pulaski Day celebration which will get under way Saturday with Polish food, music and other activities downtown from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
