Brandi Allen led the Terriers, the top-ranked team in Timesland, in the first half, scoring ten of her game-high 24 points. She, along with Cathy Smith's 11 first-half points, built the score up at the half, doubling the Wildcats' halftime total.
Smith would end the night with 17 points, before leaving the game late in the third quarter with an arm injury. Kim Kendrick added ten points for William Byrd (13-0, 2-0).
Kate Ides led the Wildcats (2-8, 0-2) with 11 points and five rebounds. Tonia Clemens added 10 points.

Magna Vista 56, Dan River 49: Magna Vista jumped out to an early lead and held off a late charge to defeat Dan River in a Piedmont District game in Ringgold.
Senior Tanesia Kellam scored 16 first-half points on her way to a game-high 19 and 11 rebounds for the Warriors (7-3, 8-5).
Sophomore Sandi Reid chipped in 12 points and nine rebounds.
Samantha Markham led the Wildcats with 15 points.
Staunton River 48, Altavista 40: At Altavista, Staunton River used Beth Davis' 15-point scoring effort and three 3-point shots to win their seventh Seminole District game in 12 outings. Altavista (3-8, 3-8) was led by Beth Rice with 12.
