Tech classroom named NationsBank

A classroom at Virginia Tech's Pamplin College of Business will be dedicated as the NationsBank Room tonight in honor of the bank's $250,000 gift to the school.

Virginia Tech said $150,000 of the gift was used to create the space for instruction in multimedia technology. The rest will support a fund for a $4,000 scholarship each year for an incoming freshman, payable over the student's first two years at Pamplin.

The speaker at the dedication will be Randolph W. McElroy, president of NationsBank Virginia, who will discuss challenges facing the banking industry. The talk will launch Pamplin College's distinguished speakers series, aimed at promoting interaction between top business leaders and college students.
