Chamber music recital at Radford

RADFORD - Pianist Caryl Conger of Radford University's music faculty will be joined by saxophonist David Jacobsen of Virginia Tech's music faculty to present a chamber recital Thursday at 8 p.m., in Radford University's Preston Auditorium. Lecture and recital at Radford University

RADFORD - David Phillips, pianist and music professor in Radford University's music faculty, will discuss and perform Modest Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" for solo piano Monday at 8 p.m., in Radford University's Preston Hall.

Mary Draper Ingles story re-enacted

BLACKSBURG- Giles Discovery Committee presents "The Mary Draper Ingles Story: The Homecoming" Nov. 4, at 10:30 a.m., across from the H&L Mini Mart on Virginia 730 near the Palisades in Eggleston.

The drama will be presented by the cast of "The Long Way Home" and descendants of Mary Ingles and Adam Harmon. Call 639-0679.

Walkers prepare for WalkAmerica 1995

BLACKSBURG - WalkAmerica 1995 marathon is Oct. 21, in Blacksburg. The marathon begins at 8 a.m. with registration at Harding Avenue Elementary School. The walk begins at 9.

The walk is sponsored by Greater Blue Ridge Chapter of the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation.
