VIRGINIA BOOTS CLEMSON IN OT

Mike Fisher scored at 13:00 of overtime to give top-ranked Virginia a 2-1 victory over No.4 Clemson on Sunday in an ACC men's soccer showdown at Klockner Stadium.

Fisher, a junior midfielder, knocked in a cross from David Fitzmaurice to help the Cavaliers extend their unbeaten streak to 23 games.

UVa (12-0-1 overall, 4-0-1 ACC) and goalie Yuri Sagatov made the lead stand up for the final 17 minutes, despite being shorthanded. UVa defender Scott Vermillion was given a red card and ejected in the 77th minute.

The Tigers (8-3-1, 2-2-0) had taken the lead in the 75th minute on a shot from 12 yards by senior forward Wolde Harris.

The Cavaliers equalized in the 84th minute when Billy Walsh scored.
