The two county-owned buildings, next to the old New Castle High School, house The Clothes Closet, a non-profit charitable agency, which has items stored to be distributed to the needy. County Administrator Stephen A. Carter said none of the stored items was damaged in the rain.
"The buildings are structurally sound and in good shape," Carter said. "Without new roofs, though, they could be damaged in the future."
The cost of replacing the roofs is expected to be about $2,000.
In other action, the supervisors:
nApproved a Virginia Juvenile Community Crime Control Act local plan. Adoption of the plan makes the county eligible for about $1,000 in state funding for efforts to reduce juvenile crime.
nRefunded $4,503 in erroneous assessments to two companies and one individual.
