Lord Botetourt 79, Rockbridge County 41: Sarah Hicks single-handedly dealt the fatal blow to the Wildcats in the first half of a Blue Ridge District contest in Lexington.
The junior scored 12 of Lord Botetourt's 31 points in the first quarter. She scored another six in the second period, giving her 18 points at the half to the Wildcats' 16.
The Cavaliers (15-2, 3-2) won their first district game since losing two straight to William Byrd and Salem.
The Wildcats' loss comes on the heels of their first ever district win, which came Tuesday against Northside.

Alleghany cut the lead to eight points with three minutes remaining but pulled no closer.
Natasha Chapman led the Mountaineers with 17, while Mellisa Page grabbed a game-high 18 rebounds.
Glenvar 51, Craig County 20: Glenvar used a full-court press and tenacious man-to-man defense to shut down the Rockets in a Pioneer District game.
