NETWORKS GET SPOOKY IN HALLOWEEN SPECIALS, SITCOMS

So you're not going out trick or treating and you didn't get invited to a single Halloween party? All's not lost. Halloween thrills can be had right in front of your TV. Munch your treats, carve up ol' Jack and dress as your favorite TV character while you watch spooky specials and kooky Halloween editions of your favorite sitcoms (almost all seem to have one this week). Among them:

ABC

``Ellen'': Ellen and friends deal with life on Halloween night. Wednesday, 8 p.m.

``Home Improvement'': Brad throws a Halloween party at home while his parents are out at a cable awards dinner. Tuesday, 9 p.m.

``Hudson Street'': Tony and Melanie's ``trick'' on Al gets him fired. Tuesday, 8:30 p.m.

``Roseanne'': At the Conner household's Halloween get-together, Roseanne receives a message on her Ouija board and goes straight to the hospital. Could it be time for the arrival of the newest Conner? Tuesday, 8 p.m.

Comedy Central

A ``Scared Stiffless'' Halloween comedy of horrors marathon begins Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Abbott and Costello's ``Hold That Ghost'' and includes ``It Came From Hollywood,'' clips from some of Hollywood's worst movies (3:30 p.m.); the Winona Ryder-Christian Slater black comedy ``Heathers'' (8 p.m.); and ``Saturday Night Live Halloween Special,'' a collection of ``SNL's'' scariest sketches (10 p.m.)

CBS

``Chicago Hope'': A bad storm hits Chicago on Halloween causing the power to go out in the hospital. Monday, 10 p.m.

``Edward Scissorhands'': Johnny Depp stars as the boy made from machinery parts who magically wields his scissor-like hands. Tuesday, 9 p.m.

Disney Channel

Disney Channel Marathon: A spooky bunch of kids' shows including ``Casper's Halloween Special.'' Tuesday through Wednesday, 6 a.m.-6 a.m.

Fox

``Melrose Place'': The hangout Shooters is all gussied up for Halloween; Alison finds a mysterious locked room at Hayley's mansion. Monday, 8 p.m.

``Ned and Stacey'': The faux couple find romance at a Halloween costume party - with the wrong people. Monday, 9:30 p.m.

``Partners'': Owen and Alicia are bombarded with trick-or-treaters. Monday, 9 p.m.

``The Simpsons'': The annual Halloween episode entitled ``Treehouse of Horror VI'' features a satire of Freddy Krueger, giant statues that come to life and Homer being sucked into a black hole. Paul Anka is the guest voice. Sunday, 8 p.m.

HBO

``Wes Craven Presents Mind Ripper'': Late night Tuesday, 12:55 a.m.

``Friday the 13th - The Final Chapter'': After a series of gory murders, Jason finally gets his due. Late night Tuesday, 2:35 a.m.

MTV

``MTV Unplugged'': A concert with legendary rockers KISS in honor of Halloween. The four original band members (Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss) will perform together for the first time in 15 years (but they won't be wearing their makeup). Tuesday, 9 p.m.

NBC

``Brotherly Love'': Joe takes his brother Andy, who is dressed as a ghost, to the mall for trick-or-treating but brings home the wrong ghost. Rondell Sheridan of ``Minor Adjustments'' guest stars. Monday, 8 p.m.

Sci-Fi

Halloween Weekend Marathon: A movie marathon with such thrillers and chillers as ``The Sentinel,'' ``The Howling,'' ``Cat People'' and ``Night Gallery.'' Sunday, 1 p.m.-1 a.m.

Kolchak Marathon: A marathon featuring the series about reporter Carl Kolchak, who battles the dark forces of evil. Monday and Tuesday, 1 p.m.-1 a.m.

TBS

``Living Nightmares'': National Geographic's ``Nightmares of Nature'' series presents ``Cry in the Dark,'' an episode dispelling myths about bats; ``Piranha!'' follows a year in the life of the flesh-eating fish; ``Spider Fear,'' the third segment, explores arachnophobia, or the fear of spiders. Sunday; repeats Monday and Nov. 4.

Halloween Movies: A night of movies including ``Dark Night of the Scarecrow'' with Charles Durning. Tuesday night.
