W.I. ``BILL'' DALY has been named vice president of J.W. Burress Inc., a Roanoke-based distributor of construction equipment operating in Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina.
Daly joined Burress as the director of marketing in March. Before that, he was the national marketing manager for Hitachi Construction Machinery in Houston. His new responsibilities will include sales and marketing for the company's operations in Roanoke, Richmond and Norfolk.
ACCOUNTING
WALTER C. JONES will join Budd, Ammen & Co. as director of forensic accounting Wednesday. Jones, who is a certified public accountant, comes to the Roanoke firm after 27 years as a federal agent. In his new position, he will oversee the company's forensic accounting and investigative services practice. Jones is also the founding director of the Roanoke chapter of Certified Fraud Examiners.
ARCHITECTS AND ENGINEERS
JOSEPH E. AHLER has joined Dewberry & Davis architects, engineers, planners and surveyors as manager of the firm's Marion office. Formerly an engineering manager with the Blountville, Tenn., office of Barge, Waggoner, Sumner and Cannon, Ahler has more than 20 years of consulting engineering experience.
AUTOMOTIVE
ROBERT HARPER has been promoted to general manager and vice president of Berglund Chevrolet in Roanoke. He has been with the company for 20 years, most recently as general sales manager.

MARIE FINDLEY has been named accounts payable manager at Roanoke-based Moore's Lumber and Building Supplies. She has been with the company for nine years. ANN ARRINGTON has been promoted to assistant manager of the department. MATT ARNOLD has been named inventory control manager of the company. Arnold, who has been with Moore's for three years, has been a margin analyst and an internal auditor.
COMPUTERS
KATIE VARNEY has joined the Roanoke office of ExecuTrain, a computer training company based in Atlanta, as educational programs manager. Varney previously worked for Carilion Health Systems as a trainer. Also at ExecuTrain, DAWNA CLEPHAS has been hired as an instructor. She formerly worked for American Management Systems.

LOUIS A. PERROTT has been elected president of the Virginia Psychological Association. He is co-founder of Peak Performance Consultation and The Manassas Group in Roanoke.
JOAN V. PRICE has been appointed vice president of Richfield Retirement Community in Salem. Price has been with Richfield for nine years, as executive secretary, corporate secretary and assistant vice president-corporate secretary. In her new position, she will be responsible for the development and marketing of all Richfield properties, overseeing independent living facilities and special activities.
LABOR
ALMA L. LEE, president of the National Veterans Affairs Council of the American Federation of Government Employees, has received the Bernice B. Heffner Outstanding Women's Achievement Award, the labor union's top honor. Lee was selected from among more than 700,000 employees represented by AFGE. Lee is president of Local 1739 at the Salem VA Medical Center.

F. ``JAY'' REARDON JR. has been named president of Hickory Chair Co., a division of The Lane Co. Inc. Reardon has worked at Hickory Chair for 14 years, most recently as vice president of sales. At the Lane Division of The Lane Co., REB NICHOLSON has been named sales manager-South Region. He succeeds JERRY RUFF, who recently was promoted to vice president-sales and national sales. In addition to his new responsibilities, Nicholson is also vice president-national accounts for Levitz and Haverty.

RICH CUNNINGHAM has been appointed program director and SAMMY SIMPSON has been named operations manager of radio station WXLK 92.3 FM (K92) in Roanoke. Cunningham will continue his nightly on-the-air slot at the station and Simpson will continue to oversee promotions.

DR. HIMANSH PATEL recently was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in recognition of his contributions in the field of adolescent and child psychiatry. Patel is the medical director of the outpatient substance abuse treatment program at Mount Regis Changes and is board-certified in addictionology, child, adolescent and general psychiatry.

ELLEN DAVIES has been named marketing manager of Junior Achievement of Southwest Virginia Inc. Davies comes to Roanoke from Lewisburg, W.Va., where she was a reporter for the West Virginia Daily News. TAMRA FAIN has been appointed administrative manager at Junior Achievement and PAULA IRONS is the new educational marketing manager.
