Admission is free for the hour-long program, which is sponsored by Roanoke Memorial Hospitals' Cancer Center of Southwest Virginia.
Young is president of Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, which he came to in 1988 from the National Cancer Institute. In 1990, Young served on a 12-member panel of experts selected by the National Institutes of Health to develop a consensus on the appropriate post-surgical therapy for advanced colon cancer. In 1991, he was co-chairman of an NIH conference on opportunities for research on women's health.
The program allows for questions from the audience. On Friday, Young will address a conference of physicians and other cancer care professionals.
