The Annual Bedford Christmas Parade is scheduled for Dec. 2 at 2 p.m.
Bands, floats, marching units and civic and church groups are encouraged to enter the competition. Trophies will be awarded for best float, marching unit, equestrian and general entry.
This years's theme is ``Christmas Around the World.''
Forms will be mailed to last year's entrants. Others wishing to participate should call 586-2148.
Korea lectures
Donald Clark, scholar and author, will present two lectures in Roanoke College's lecture series, ``Korea and the United States: Continuity and Change.''
``History of Modern Korea: Division, Unity and Development'' will be presented Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the college's Antrim Chapel.
Clark will speak on ``Religious Changes in Modern Korea'' on Nov. 16 at 11:20 a.m. in the Sutton Student Center Ballroom.
Clark is professor of history and director of international studies at Trinity University, Texas.
The Korea Series continues Feb. 15 with ``Chang-Rae Lee Reads From His Fiction.''
All lectures are open to the public at no charge.

Opera master class
Opera singer Gabriella Tucci will teach a vocal master class Nov. 12 at 3 p.m. in Talmadge Recital Hall in Bradley Hall at Hollins College.
Tucci has performed in most of the major opera houses in the world, including La Scala, Covent Garden and Moscow's Bolshoi Opera.
Tucci's repertoire consists of 80 roles by 30 composers. She was a regular member of the Metropolitan Opera for 13 seasons.
