Hours: Monday through Friday, noon to 10 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday closed.
Products: Owner Roy says there is no hobby or gaming store like Game Quest anywhere in the New River Valley. The store, he says, offers a full array of role-playing, board, military and historical games, as well as miniatures, models, rockets, trains, slot cars, comics collectibles and supplies. The store also schedules games beginning at 6 p.m. each day in a special game room. Since opening in August, Game Quest's gaming club has grown from 15 members to 65.
Manager Rowell says the store tries to make its customers feel at home. "You can go there and feel comfortable. It's almost like a hangout." Roy said the store's anti-drugs and alcohol policy make it a safe haven for teens. Customers range in age from 14 to 50.
