Mrs. Childers is the daughter of the late Archie & Bertha Nuttycombe. Mrs. Childers was a homemaker. She is proceeded in death by John Everett Childers. She is survived by one son, Hugh Childers, Davidson, NC; two sisters, Mrs. Lewis B. (Violet) Childers, Roanoke, and Mrs. Ray (Nellie) Lanier, Richmond. COOK, Christopher Michael, 44, of Route 3, Boones Mill, died Monday, November 6, 1995 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Lee Cook, and was employed by Ronile, Inc. as a controller. Surviving are two sons, Ben Cook, of the home, Aarron Cook, Illinois; his parents, Carl and Marjorie B. Cook, Florida; special friends, Tim and Sandra Thomas, Boones Mill. The family wishes to thank everyone for their help and support of Chris, especially Zelma Ross and Liz Taylor. FERGUSON, Hazel Irma, 72, of Wirtz, died Monday, November 6, 1995 at Franklin Memorial Hospital. Born September 7, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Aina Kaesnter. She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Ferguson, two grandchildren, Thomas Paul Guffey and Rebecca Susan Holcomb, and a brother, Edward Kaesnter. Mrs. Jackson retired from Sears after 25 years of service. Preceded in death by her husband, Roy Hamilton James, she is survived by six daughters and four sons-in-law, Alberta and Junior L. Shively, Maxine and J.D. LUBINSKI, Margaret Britts, 80, of Roanoke, died Sunday, November 5, 1995, at Lewis Gale Hospital of a stroke and heart attack. She was an accomplished musician and devoted wife and mother. A native of Roanoke, Margaret is the daughter of Samuel Britts and Maggie Minter Britts. Growing up she was active in community and church activities, graduating from Jefferson Senior High School. Music was always the center of her life. She won numerous honors for her piano playing and began teaching piano at age 15. After graduation she was awarded a scholarship to Sherwood School of Music in Chicago. There she excelled in music studies and met and married her life partner, Lucian Lubinski. At the beginning of World War II Margaret returned to Roanoke with her husband, Lucian where they raised a daughter, Barbara and a son, Michael. Margaret continued her focus on music; performing, organizing, and teaching. She was an active member of The Thursday Morning Music Club and the Roanoke Music Teachers Guild. For over 50 years she shaped the musical lives of dozens of Roanoke youth through her teaching. Always a spiritual person, Margaret was a founding member of UNITY of Roanoke Valley. Over the years she helped develop the worship through music at the church and inspired hundreds with her gifted piano playing. She performed regularly at UNITY until her death. To her church, to her family and to her friends and neighbors Margaret Britts Lubinski gave unstintingly of her talents, her time and her love. Friends and neighbors can join the family in remembrance of her at a viewing, Wednesday, November 8, 1995, from 7 to 9 p.m. and the service Thursday, November 9, 1995, 10:30 a.m. at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel. Born May 19, 1920, in Rockbridge County, he was the son of the late John Leonard Markham and Annie Napier Markham. Mr. Markham was a member of Lexington Presbyterian Church and retired from Burlington Industries of Glasgow. MARTZ, Annie Belle Gibson, 90, of Christiansburg, passed away Monday afternoon, November 6, 1995 at the home of her niece. She was born in Montgomery County (Christiansburg) on August 17, 1905, and was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Lilly Jennings Gibson; one sister, Kathleen; and three brothers, Theodore, Irvin and Eugene Gibson. She was the widow of William Earnest Martz, who was a pharmacist in Herndon. Mrs. Martz was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church and retired after 40 years teaching at Herndon Elementary School. Since 1992 she had made her home with her niece and her husband, Ann and Larry Chandler. Surviving are two nieces and their husbands, Ann and Larry Chandler, Christiansburg, Emogene and Dr. Wallace L. MELTON, Violet Morris, 69, of 5606 Locust Drive, Dublin, , died Monday evening, November 6, 1995 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Melton was born in Carroll County, January 6, 1926, daughter of the late Ross and Elsie Dickens Morris. She was a former school teacher and a member of Fancy Gap United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Swanson L. Melton, of the home; two brothers, Verlin Morris, Yadkinville, N.C., and Dallas Rudolph Morris, Dublin. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Melton was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lois Stump Carmichael. Army during World War II, he worked for Lendy Air Products in Memphis, Tenn. After returning to Franklin County, he operated a sawmill for 40 years.
