HOSPITALMAN APPRENTICE KATHY L. LLOYD, daughter of Elizabeth A. Lloyd of Roanoke, recently graduated from the Navy's Hospital Corps School. She is a 1991 graduate of Patrick Henry High School.

PVT. JARED T. DAVIS, son of Mary T. Davis of Roanoke, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. He is a 1995 graduate of Northside High School.

SGT. JULIAN R. CRINER, son of Julian R. Criner Jr. of Roanoke, recently was promoted to his present rank while serving at Camp Lejuene, N.C. Criner is a 1985 graduate of Salem High School.

SEAMAN RECRUIT CLIFTON H. DUNFORD, son of William S. and Donna L. Dunford of Salem, recently completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. He is a 1995 graduate of Northside High School.

PVT. ELIAS J. ROBERTSON, son of Sarah G. Chapman of Roanoke, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

PVT. CHRISTOPHER R. BLANKENSHIP, son of Otey and Terri Blankenship of New Castle, recently completed basic training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. Blankenship is a 1995 graduate of Craig County High School.

JAMES E. FINNEY, son of Hardy and Deborah Finney of Salem, recently completed training in fundamental military skills at the Army ROTC Camp Challenge at Fort Knox, Ky. Finney, a 1993 graduate of Salem High School, is a student at Longwood College.

NATIONAL GUARD PFC. JOSEPH J. CERAK, son of Pat and Fred Cerak of Salem, recently completed basic training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. Cerak is a 1995 graduate of Salem High School.

PFC. DOUGLAS J. FUHRO, a 1995 graduate of Northside High School, recently completed basic training with Recruit Training Regiment, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

PETTY OFFICER 2ND CLASS RONNIE A. POFF, son of Ruth O. Fornes of Roanoke, recently received the Navy Achievement Medal while assigned with Reserve Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 23 in Fort Belvoir. Poff is a 1988 graduate of Northside High School.

NAVY ENSIGN THOMAS W. ERWIN, son of William S. Erwin Jr. of Roanoke, recently completed Officer Indoctrination School.
