BARBER, Leo Thomas, 65, of Roanoke, died Friday, November 19, 1995 in a Roanoke hospital. Mr. Barber, a native of Portsmouth, was the Owner and Operator of Commonwealth Lighting, Inc., Roanoke. He was a member of BPO Elks Lodge #197, Knights of Columbus #562, and the Hidden Valley Country Club. He received his B.S. Degree from Virginia Tech and M.S. Degree from Lynchburg College. He was a Silver Lifetime Member of the Virginia Tech Hokie Club. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Gibson Barber; three sons, Leo T. ``Tommy'' Barber, Jr., Virginia Beach, Steven T. ``Timmy'' Barber, Chapel Hill, N.C., Charles T. ``Terry'' Barber, Hawaii; sister, Anne Barber Bowers, Chesapeake; two brothers, Richard E. Barber II, Riyath, Saudi Arabia, James J. Barber, Portsmouth; three grandchildren, Michael, Kelly and Jacob Barber, all of Chapel Hill. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 13, 1995, in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk, by the Rev. Thomas B. Nee. BURNETT, Charlie Ross, 71, of Altavista and Smith Mountain Lake, died Wednesday, November 8, 1995 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born June 3, 1924, he was the son of the late S. Luther and Cova Ross Burnett. He was a retired building contractor and a member of the Central Virginia Home Builders Association. Surviving are his wife, Eva H. EBERT, Katherine Reid, 89, of Lynchburg, died Friday, November 10, 1995 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Hugh David Ebert Sr. Born in Roanoke November 17, 1905, she was a daughter of the late Cephas S. and Grace Sprint Reid. She was a graduate of Roanoke High School, Longwood College, and attended William & Mary College. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and St. John's Episcopal Church. After retiring from Boonsboro Elementary School as a teacher, she volunteered over 3500 hours with the Auxiliaries of Va. Baptist and Lynchburg General Hospital. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Hugh David and Peggy D. Ebert, Columbia, S.C., Marshall Reid and Betty W. Ebert, Lynchburg; a daughter, Mrs. Shearer Ebert Ramsey, Roanoke; seven grandchildren, Hugh David Ebert III, Kelly Ebert Stoltz, Lee Anne Ebert, Mary Beth Ebert Francisco, M. Reid Ebert Jr., Katherine Blair Ramsey, Elizabeth Brooke Ramsey; a great-granddaughter, Taylor M. Stoltz. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. today in Evergreen Cemetery, Roanoke, by the Rev. GRISSO, Viola Henry, 85, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, November 10, 1995 at her home. She was born July 7, 1910, the daughter of the late Ben and Maude Mountcastle Henry of Bent Mountain, and her foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Thomas of Catawba. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carridon Grisso, a son, Lynwood Grisso, and a daughter, Rowena Grisso. Mrs. Grisso was a member of Catawba United Methodist Church and a member of C.U.M.U. for many years. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Raymond L. Grisso, Herbert A. and Judy Grisso; a daughter, Caroline G. Nolen; three special granddaughters, Debbie Grisso, Kim and her husband, Chris Richardson, and Jennifer Grisso; four grandsons who are very special, Randy Grisso, Chad Grisso, Tommy and wife, Doni Grisso, and Jason Grisso; a great-grandson, Christopher Taylor Richardson; a special niece, Katie Barney and family, North Carolina; a special nephew, Bill Harper and family, North Carolina; and lots of other nieces and nephews; two daughters-in-law, Virginia Grisso, Speedwell and Emma Lou Grisso. STEWART, Gerald Lee, (``Jerry''), 59, of Troutville, and formerly of El Paso, Texas, died Friday, November 10, 1995, at his home. He graduated from Texas Western College, as well as from Southeastern Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C. He also attended Union Theological Seminary in Richmond. He pastored churches in Norfolk and the Peaks Presbytery until his retirement in 1974, but remained active in preaching while working with the Social Security Administration for the past 18 years. Throughout his life, Jerry was an avid outdoorsman and volunteer, working with prison inmate rehabilitation in Va., Texas, Mexico and N.C. He is survived by his wife, Selby Smith Stewart; his daughter, Alise Jean Hopkins; his son, Marc Isaac Stewart; his brother, David Glenn Stewart, Phoenix, Ariz.. Also surviving are his daughter-in-law, Kathryn Stewart; son-in-law, R. Whittle Hopkins; father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Elsie Smith, Raleigh, N.C. A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, November 18, 1995 at the Fincastle Presbyterian Church. WEST, Creola Todd, 86, of Loris, S.C., Daisy Community, died Thursday afternoon, November 9, 1995 at the Loris Community Hospital, after an illness. Mrs. West was born in Horry County, S.C. on September 11, 1909. She was the widow of Jessie Blease West; and daughter of the late Will Russell Todd and Julia Ann Gause Todd. Mrs. West was a homemaker, and a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.
