The couple are both retired from Valleydale Packers. They have 2 children, Robert Hendricks (deceased), and Joyce Hendricks of Salem.

Vernon and Margaret Matherly celebrated their 50th anniversary on October 21, 1995, at the Hotel Roanoke's Virginia Room. They were married on October 24, 1945, in Floyd, Va. Mrs. Matherly is the former Margaret Turman. They have two daughters, Joyce Shaver of Roanoke and Judy Quesenberry of Charlottesville, Va. They have two grandsons. Mr. Matherly is retired from his lumber business and Mrs. Matherly is a retired supervisor of Floyd Garment Co.
Necessary anniversary
Frank and Delilah Necessary celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary June 22, 1995. The celebration was held at the Church of God of Prophecy on Florist Road, Saturday, June 17, 1995 and hosted by their children. The couple had 10 children, 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Thanks to all who made this day special.
Prillaman anniversary
The daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren of Cecil and Bevelyne Prillaman held a reception at Piedmont Presbyterian Church to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. She was the former Bevelyne Thomas. There were about 200 guests that attended. The couple live in Callaway.
Thomas anniversary
Ira and Annie Thomas celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary November 5, 1995. The celebration was held in the glass room of Western Sizzlin in Christiansburg, Va., and was hosted by their children, Rachel, Maybelle, Marshall and Korene, their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The couple was married November 2, 1935, by Rev. Noah Conner. Mrs. Thomas is the former Annie Walters and is a homemaker. Mr. Thomas is a retired carpenter.
